Productive Weekend

This weekend was our monthly Stitch and Bitch at March's. After breakfast we went back to her house and worked on our mini-SAL piece. I finished the letters in home and started on the bird.

After that I switched to the LHN ornament of the month "Snowy Pines". I have it finished except I am missing one floss color in the snow at the bottom. Hopefully I will have time to run to Michael's to get it.
Sharliena joined us this time and I caught her with my camera. She is working on a wolf. Nice colors.

We ended up going to lunch at the Green Olive Seafood Buffet. OMG. We stuffed ourselves silly! The food was so good and fresh. A good stitching day with good friends.

Finally, I was able to finish page 13 of FoS tonight while watching Pacific on HBO. On to page 14!

All in all a productive stitching weekend. Thanks for dropping by.

As Promised

Here are the pictures of my new stash. These are actually from a $10 grab bag from InStitches. I really like the La-D-Da, the Cricket Collections, and the LHN.

When March and I went out to Fairfax to Stitcher's Stash, I knew I had to grab the Thirteen Owls (one of my favorite birds) from Plum Street and the LHN piece with the mattress. The Mirabilia was a mail order that came in the mail on Saturday.

The main reason I wanted to go to InStitches with the side trip to Woodlawn was to pick up the next ornament from LHN. I started it last night and hopefully will get to stitch on it some more today. We had a very busy day going to the movies and then some shopping. I've got some laundry going now and DH is napping, so maybe I can get some done now.

Have fun stitching everyone.

Woodlawn

March and I went to the Woodlawn Needlework Show yesterday. Some very beautiful pieces and of course we get ideas and go "oh I want to do that!". I even brought a little notebook this time to write some of them down. The best in show was by a local lady and it was a piece by Thistle Threads. It was a little box. She did a great job. There was another piece in the glass case with it that another lady and I oohed and aahed over. It was a blackwork piece and they had it turned so you could see the front and back. You almost couldn't tell which was which and neither of us could see where she ended her threads. Incredible. There were the usual samplers, Mirablias, and what not. The things that really blew us away though, was a room full of Japanese Embroidery. OMG! If you have never seen this, go find some. It is the most delicate, shiny, detailed stitching I have ever seen. You stitch with silks on silk. I cannot describe how beautiful they all were except to say that in all the years we have been going to the show, this was the first time we went to a room twice. If you are any where near Northern Virginia, go to Woodlawn this month.

The rest of the morning/afternoon was spent shopping in two of the LNS'. I bought stash (how could I not). I'll post a picture later today. Right now we are getting ready to go see Alice in Wonderland in 3D IMAX. We bought our tickets online last night. We learned our lesson after trying to get tickets for Avatar (never did get to see that) and of course I'll go see anything with Johnny Depp in it LOL!

Have fun stitching!
