Oh Snow!

I'll start with the snow pictures first. Here in Alexandria we got about 2 feet. That wouldn't have been so bad except the damn snowplows! Sunday we shoveled all the way out to the street. The snow was light and fluffy. Then the trucks kept plowing Sunday night and closed up our opening with more snow. Was it still light and fluffy? Heck no! It was solid ice. My husband had to use a pickax to break it up so he could shovel it. Well I say he, but that should be we. I swing a mean pickax.

This was early Saturday around 10:30 am. It's almost 18 inches. It kept snowing another 12 hours after that so we had a lot more than that but the 50 mph winds made too many drifts to get an accurate level after that.

This is out my kitchen window Sunday morning. Just a little hanging off the roof.

Sam was trying out his new snow blower. It was okay for some areas but most of it was too deep for it and we had to use the old fashioned shovel.

Okay, now onto the stitching. I am still working on HAED's The Astronomer. I just finished page 13. Almost done with the row.

I'm afraid I have to go back to work tomorrow so I won't be getting much stitching done then.

Thanks for stopping by.

HAED Challenge

HAED is having six challenges this year. The first one is to stitch 1000 stitches in a diagonal pattern. only have one column left to stitch on page 13 so I jumped over to page 14 to do the challenge.

Here is where I am right now.

It was fun. Trying to match it up to the picture is like looking at a jigsaw puzzle. I don't think I would make it a habit to stitch like this though.
