Moving On

Finished page 11 of The Astronomer by Myles Pinkney and am now on page 12. I hope to get it done by the end of the year.

Here is where I am overall.

I've really got the HAED mojo going so hopefully I can at least end this row before I change to something else.

Well Crap

It's been over a month since I posted! I've been spending a lot of time on Facebook reading the groups I belong to. Yes, they are all stitch related. I have been stitching. I have the HAED bug again and have been working on The Astronomer. I finished page 10. Here is a picture.

I'm already half way through page 11. Lots of confetti stitching. I hope to have it done and maybe page 12 by the end of the year.

Why Yes

I finished this off this weekend. It's all ready for Halloween. The fabric is a little washed out in the picture, but it is different shades of orange. I bought the cauldron at Michael's. It was on sale for half price so I got it for $2.00.

Now, back to stitching on Raven Queen.

A Quickie

It only took three days to stitch this cute CCN design. It is Fa La La. I needed something small and quick to do after finishing At the Met.

Now, what to work on next?

Phryne

I have finished At the Met by Mirabilia. She is stitched on 32 ct. PTP Storm. My DH looked at her and announced that she looks just like Phyrne Fisher from the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries so I am going to call her Phryne.

Her whole sash is edged with beads

The edge of the dress is all beaded

So remember I said in my last post there is a crap load of beads? Just check out the pictures. They do not even show all the beads. So glad to be done with her.

I was going to start Raven Queen but I think I need a break from the big stuff and need to do a little piece instead.

Why Do I Do This To Myself?

I'm now putting on the beads for At the Met. I love Mirabilia designs, but I cringe when I start doing the beading. That's when I ask myself why do I do this to myself???? I know it will turn out beautiful, it just that it's a crap load of beads!

This is just her headdress. Wait until I get to the skirt of her dress. I may run amuck.

Another Finish

I just finished this Little House Needleworks pattern. If you buy the two Classic Colorworks you get the pattern for free. It is called "Sweet Rose".

It is stitched on 36 ct. Lakeside Vintage Meadow Rue. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it is very overcast right now so that is as good as I'm going to get.

It's Done

I finished The Joan Elliott SAL Faces. I think my favorite is the last one - the dragon. They are all so colorful.

So, my rotation plan went by the wayside. I guess I just want to stitch on whatever calls me. Now, what to work on now that I finished this?

Honest, I Have Been Stitching

It's 93 degrees outside! So I'm staying inside. I finally finished the stitching on the corner square of the Faces SAL by Joan Elliott. I only have the beading to do but I'm doing all of those last. One more square to do and it will all be done. So, here is the picture of the bottom corner.

All the skin tones are stitched over 1.

Stay cool and thanks for stopping by.

A Small Finish

I finished stitching Cats and Pumpkins  by Erica Michaels and finished it into a box frame. Yes, I actually finished something completely. It is not sitting in a drawer somewhere. I took out the glass so I could take picture with out any reflections.

To show you how small this is I took a picture with a penny next to it. It is stitched on 40 ct. silk gauze.

The Joker Ain't the Only Fool

Do you recognize that song line? I had it running through my head every time I worked on this. However, no more, because - dun dun dunnnnnnnnn - it is done!

The Queen of Hearts
Classic Colorworks & Diane Williams
Stitched on 40 ct. Lakeside Vintage Meadow Rue

I really enjoyed working on this one. I finished it up Saturday. Now I have to rotate to my Mirabilia.

Rotation Update

I wasn't able to update until tonight because my dad passed away on February 19th. I do have a little stitching to show though. I already showed the first week of my rotation, but here is the rest.

Week 2 - Mirabilia - worked on At the Met and finished most of the skirt.

Week 3 - HAED - worked on the Astronomer. Didn't get much stitched because of dad, but got a few stitches in.

Week 4 - Free - worked and finished the latest part of the Joan Elliot Faces SAL. I'll be adding the beads at the end.

Trying Something New

I've decided to try doing a rotation. It seems to work for some people so I thought I would give it a whirl. My plan for each month is this:

Week 1 - LHN/CCN/CCW
Week 2 - Mirabilia
Week 3 - HAED
Week 4 - anything else

So last week was Week 1 and I worked on Queen of Hearts designed by Diane Williams for Classic Colorworks. Here is where I ended.

It's at least half way done. I picked up At the Met on Sunday to work on and I'll post a picture of it next week.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Finish

I started North Pole Express on Monday and finished it today. It is a nice, fast project. You can get the pattern from your LNS when you purchase the Classic Colorworks threads. I might try to make it into a little pillow, though I need to practice with the sewing machine before I attempt that.

I used a remnant I picked up at my LNS. It is a 32 ct. Natural Opalescent. You can see some of the sparkle in the picture.

Now I have to go start something else. I do have startitis very badly right now.

Most Recent Face

Finally got off my tush and finished the latest face in the Joan Elliott SAL. I stitched the face 1 over 1. I love these faces.

Now I am off to start something new. I have a serious case of startitis.

Thanks for stopping by.

Great Customer Service

I stopped buying Vera Bradley when they moved their manufacturing to China. No offense to the Chinese, I just believe in supporting my country's businesses when possible. Quite frankly, the quality of the bags went way down. The stitching was not as good and the fabric wore through very quickly. So, when we were visiting in Roanoke a couple years ago my sisters and I went to this little gift store. We were lamenting about VB with one of the shop ladies and she showed us a new line of handbags. The maker was Stephanie Dawn. I bought a bag and a wallet. I have had this bag for two years. Just last month the magnetic clasp came off. So I emailed them about getting a replacement clasp, planning on putting it on myself. I received a very nice email from them stating they did not send out replacement parts, but to send the bag back to them and they would fix it or replace it. They included a FedEx RMA with the email. I sent it out on Monday. Tuesday I received an email saying they were shipping something to me. I got it today. A brand new bag replacing my old one. In this day and age it is so refreshing to have a company not only with goods made in America, but also with such fabulous customer service. I highly recommend them.

Isn't the fabric pretty? This is how the handbag comes. I couldn't be more pleased.

Playing with a Christmas Gift

Several years ago my DH got me a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. It has been my pride and joy since then. On my Amazon wish list I had the pasta cutter set. My wonderful in-laws got me the set for Christmas. I was planning on playing with it last weekend but the plague put a dent in that idea. So this weekend was it. OMG! I love it and now here is the picture show.
The dough in waiting. This was the hardest part of the whole operation.
I had to add twice the amount of water. I suppose because it is so dry in the winter.

The roller attachment close up

The mixer with the roller attachment (ignore the messy countertop)

The dough after it has been rolled out in all the settings

More fettuccini than I know what to do with

Next weekend will be the spaghetti experiment. You get two different cutters in the set I got. I plan on making chicken carbonaro tonight. Now I have to go clean up  the kitchen.

Thanks for stopping by.

It doesn't look like I got much stitching done this year, but I worked on a lot of larger projects. So here is what I did this year.

Red

Frosty Forest - 9 stitching projects in 1

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. The plague has moved on and we are now getting our strengths' back.
