Finally!

I finally have some stitching to post. I've been in a reading mood lately and my stitching has suffered for it. So, Friday they let us leave early for the holiday weekend at 1:00 pm if we had all our work done (that's Memorial Day for non-Americans). I decided to finally work some more on Deep Blue Sea. I finished part 3 last night, except the beading. I still need to bead parts 1 through 3. I think that is what I am going to do today. I've decided to just put on the delicas and leave the larger beads until the end so they don't cause divits in the fabric when it gets rolled up. Now, here is my picture.

This is really becoming a beautiful piece. Hopefully I'll catch up part 4 & 5 soon. Part 6 comes out next month, which come to think of it, is the end of this week. AH! I need to stitch faster!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Memorial Day!

May WIPocalypse

So here's my post for May.

13 Colonies

I'm getting close to finishing this. A few more states and the bottom border and then it will be done. I only work on this at stitch night so it seems like it's slow going but I am happy with the progress.

I've finished one side of part 3 on Deep Blue Sea and started on the right side. I'm trying to catch up on this one, so it will be on the stand and be my focus piece at home.

Next up is The Astronomer. I finished page 7 and hence the first row. After I catch up DBS I'm going to start the second row on this.

I picked this up at Stitch Night last Wednesday. It is Mirabilia's new Santa. Don't know when I will start it but I was really taken with it.

Finally, in non-stitching information, we went to see The Avengers today. AWESOME! Joss Whedon did a great job with the screenplay and the direction. As a former comic collector I have to say I was very pleased with the way it was handled. Go see it if you get the chance.

The other discovery I made today is the 7-11 has a sugar free Mango Slurpee! That is great news for diabetics like me. I plan on getting one almost every day. Whoo Hoo!

Thanks for stopping by.

April TUSAL a Little Late

Here is my late TUSAL. A lot of black and red from the Astronomer.

Now, here are some pictures of the tile work my DH and I did in the kitchen. We still have a little clean up and we have to put the sealant on it. This is the first time we have done any tile work.

DH also did the laminate on the countertop all by himself. He does good work doesn't he?

Thanks for stopping by.

I know, I know ...

It's been weeks since I posted. First I caught a cold my husband brought home from work, then that became bronchitis and frankly I don't feel like doing anything while I'm coughing up my lungs. We've also been re-tiling our kitchen walls. Hopefully the final part - grouting -  will be done today. Then I have to put my kitchen back together. I'll post some before and after pictures when we finish. Then, on Friday the 13th I came home from work to find my laptop had gone belly up. After looking at it my DH decided it would be best to go get a new one. It was about four years old so I was due a new one. So I went to Best Buy after doing research on what I wanted and the best price to get it for and now I am the proud owner of a new HP DV6. It's got great battery life. Now, before I got sick I was doing some stitching. I have a picture of "Thirteen Colonies". I only work on this piece away from the house, at Stitch Night and Stitch n Bitch.

Next is the Astronomer. I lack about fifty stitches and then page 7 and the first row will be done.

I really need to get myself back into my stitching. Maybe I can put a few stitches in this tonight.

Thanks for visiting!

Liebster

Minnie over at All XXs awarded me this blogger award.

Liebster is a German word, meaning favorite, dearest or beloved.  The Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition.

The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting

1.        Choose five up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster too.

2.       Show thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

3.       Post the award on your blog.  List the bloggers you are giving the award too with links to their sites.  Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.

4.       Share five random facts about yourself that people don’t know.

It's hard choosing people, but here goes

1. Megan at Stitchings of an Army Wife

2. Anna at NY Needles

3. Melanie at Moonraker Lampwerks

4. Sharon at Sharon Stitches

5. Nick at M Go Blue Stitcher

Now five facts about myself. Ha! That's not hard!

1. I love going to yard sales, but don't get to go as much as I would like.

2. I'm a lousy housekeeper, but my office at work is spotless

3. I'm a closet Dean fan (anyone who watches Supernatural will understand)

4. I had a poem published in the school newspaper

5. I can dance the Timewarp

These things are so hard for me! Now I have to go leave comments.

TUSAL for March

The black and red on top is from The Astronomer. That's about the only think I have worked on.

Not much new right now so this is a real short posting.
