Welcome to all the new blog readers coming for the Grow You
Blog Party. Thanks to Vicki at 2
Bags Full for organizing it. I hope some of you will become new followers.
I invite you to read through past posts to see samples of my stitching.
Also, I’m going to host a giveaway. Just leave a comment on
this post and on February 1st I will post the winner.
And on to the stitching! I’ve had a hankerin’ for hardanger.
You know the feeling, right? It starts pulling at you. So at the Wednesday
night Stitch Night at In Stitches I purchased 28 ct. Cashel cream linen and the
8 and 12 perle cottons to do one of the mats from the 2010 Award-Winning
Designs. I got a good start that night and just a little more done last night. It's a little hard to see the cream on cream color.
As my regular readers know, I just took up knitting in
October. Well, between the knitting, cross stitch, and the cold, my hands have
become rough and has been snagging my floss. I’ve tried all sorts of different
lotions. I googled (this will soon be a real word in the dictionary. Just like Xerox)
knitter’s lotion and came upon an Etsy store – HappyHands. I ordered a small
hand cream to try out. I love it! It has a wonderful fragrance and my hands
feel very silky. I’m going to order some other fragrances to try out. Maggie
also includes a free sample with every order. Good customer service.
So, put up your feet and have fun perusing the ole blog.

Have you ever tried udderly smooth? I was recommended it by some stitchy friends, I got some for Christmas and I love it! :)
I'm rather fond of a bit of hardanger myself and have worked a few cusion/pillow covers as well as lots of tiny bits for cards. There's even one on my GYB post.=)
Glad to have found your blog via GYB. Hope many more will join me in following you! Pam
Enjoy the Hardanger Jan, I still love to do it but the first cut is always the hardest for me.
Thanks for the heads up on the hand cream - due to all the paper I shuffle around my hands are always so dry in the winter. I have a hardanger doily (HAH some doily it's like 2 feet long!) that has been languishing in the WIP stack that I should pull out sometime. Hope you continue to enjoy working on yours.
That's one thing I haven't tried yet, hardanger. But it's on my list!
A wonderful blog! And I simply adore your creations on your header, especially the Siamese cat for we have two Siamese cats. A treat to meet you through the Grow Your Blog party.
Ooohhh, a give away on February first! That's my birthday!
I love your stitched kitties. I enjoyed my visit in your blog today. Thanks for joining the party.

Evalina, This and that...
i agree - udderly smooth is kind of weird to use - maybe put your hand in gloves while sleep - but it keeps your hands extra smooth. please stop by my blog. take care. ( :

Hi Jan,
It is so nice to meet you. Your blog is lovely and you are very crafty. I remember the days of cross-stich. I have moved on to other hobbies and don't seem to have the time anymore for it. I'm still making my way through visiting everyone from Vicki's Grow Your Blog party. I hope you will stop by to say hello.
so nice to meet another stitcher from the blog party...i'm slowly making my way through the list! would love to enter your giveaway too...thanks!
You have a lovely blog, and I admire your courage in working hardanger - I haven't tried that yet.

Found you through the GYOB party although I'm also part of TUSAL and WIPocalypse too!
I admire your hardanger. I love this form of stitching however I'm not very good at it and decided to just stick to my cross stitch. I've added my name as a follower so I'll be back soon to see what you've been up to.
I hope you'll drop by my blog and enter my giveaway as well.
