Mystery

I finished stitching on my exchange piece and now all I have to do is finish it. So while I'm waiting for glue to dry, I pulled out the Mystery SAL piece from Helga and Barbara Ana to work on. I had previously finished part 1, but put it down to work on other things. I don't want to start anything new as the Chatelaine Mystery XI part 3 comes out day after tomorrow. Here is a piccie of the SAL piece. It is a cutie.

It's amazing what you find when you go through old bags in your stash area. I found two skeins of Needle Necessities and four of Silk 'n Colors. I have no idea what I bought them for or when I bought them. I took about a five year hiatus from stitching, so it's anyone's guess about them!

Irritated

My DH can irritate me like no one else! The alarm has gone off like ten times and he keeps hitting the snooze. This last time it went off for eight minutes. I went into the bedroom and poked him and he's like "I'll get up in a minute". It wouldn't be so bad, but I'm the one who got two hours of sleep last night while he snored his butt off! I feel like saying that, but then I feel guilty because I'm not working right now and he is. So my plan is to take him to the Metro and then come back and lay down. Ha!

On the stitching side, I'm almost done with the ornament for the exchange I'm doing. I should be able to finish it today or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow. I'm going to do our taxes today. I'll post a picture after I know the recepient has received it.

Okay, I have my morning rant out so I'll go get dressed now.

Pineapple

Pineapple Sampler

This is the pineapple sampler I did last year. I think the little pineapple pyramid in the next post will go very nicely with it.

What I Did Today

I stitched on the ornament for the exchange. I'll go ahead and post the WIP pic. It is stitched 1x1 on 32 ct. Tiny but pretty.

I also ran down to the LNS since we are suppose to have ice storms tomorrow. I was only going to get some Waterlilies but I saw this done up on the wall and I had to get it. It was just so cute!

The pineapple is the welcome symbol for Virginia. This will go nicely with a sampler I completed last year.

I hope we get more snow than ice tomorrow, but knowing our luck, it'll be ice. Oh well.

Froggies

Well, I did get a little stitching in on my ornie exchange and then had to frog what I had done yesterday! It wouldn't be so bad but I'm stitching 1x1 on 32 ct linen. That is a real PITA to frog let me tell you. I didn't get too much done today as DH was home from work. Hopefully I can get more done tomorrow.

I also sent a resume in for a job today. It's with the NRA. Now, I'm sort of neutral when it comes to guns. I do know how to shoot; DH taught me when we were at my parent's place in the country. They have several acres and we don't have to worry about hitting anyone. I'm actually a pretty good shot. The job is for Receptionist/MAC Tech. Keeping my fingers crossed. I keep applying but haven't had any luck so far. Oh well, if I don't get it, I still have time for more stitching.

Finished

I finished Mirabilia's New Year's Fairy today. This really stitched up quickly. It took a total of eight days. I probably could have finished yesterday, but I got sidetracked with another project. I went through all my old copies of Cross Stitch and Country Crafts magazine and made a spreadsheet of which charts I wanted to do from which issue. So, here's a piccie of NYF:

I hand-dyed the fabric myself. I think it turned out pretty good.

Now I have to start the piece I'm doing for the Mirabilia Stitcher's BB ornament exchange. I'll post a picture after the person receives it.

WIP

I worked on Mirabilia's New Year's Fairy today. I'm doing it for the Mirabilia Stitchers Message Board contest. I started it Jan. 31, then stopped to work on Chatelaine's Myster XI, then picked it up the following week and worked on it for three days, stopped for the HAED SAL then picked it up again yesterday. So in total I've worked on it six days including today. Not too shabby. All I have to do is backstitch the wings and put in the beads. Here's a piccie:

Hopefully I'll finish her tomorrow. Then I need to work on an ornament for an exchange I'm doing on the same board. After that I want to finish the biscornu I'm working on. Lots of stitching in the next few weeks.

Valentine's Day

Well, no stitching today. I did get in a little over 1000 stitches in Fantasies yesterday. Today I'm getting our dinner together. We decided not to try and go out anywhere for dinner. It's such a zoo around here and getting into a restaurant in this area can be close to impossible. So, I picked up some lobsters at the store, asparagus, and cheesey garlic bread. I'll set the table with candles and the good china. Voila, one intimate Valentine's Day dinner for two.

I hope everyone else has a wonderful day.

Dreary Day

Not much going on today. I put about 200 stitches in Fantasies of the Seas and then started the second half of a biscornu. Other than that all I've done is housework. They were calling for snow last night, but of course we didn't get it. It's just been cold, damp, and overcast all day.

On the upside, after I dropped DH at the metro this morning, I pulled into the driveway and about 3 feet in front of the car was a juvenile Sharp Shinned Hawk. Luckily, by binocs were in the backseat and I was able to reach them and get a real good look. I was able to watch him for 5 minutes or so before he took off. Shame I didn't have my camera, I could have had a real nice pic of him. Since I don't have one of him, I'll post one of my older bird pics.

New Blogger

Well, I have succumbed and I now have a blog. I have read many other stitchers blogs and decided to start my own.

I just finished the February HAED SAL today. I am doing Fantasies of the Sea by James Christensen. Here is my starting picture.

Here is my picture after four days of stitching. I have finally finished page 1.

I will probably go back to the New Years Fairy by Mirabilia tomorrow. I only have a couple days more stitching to do and it should be done. I dyed my own fabric for it. I would love to purchase some of the hand dyed fabrics I see online, but finances just want support it right now.

Well, that's it for my first entry. WooHoo!
