How does your garden grow

No, not the cross stitch piece. This is what my DH and I did this weekend. He built the box, filled it with the soil, manure, and fertilizer. I put in the plants. Here is the before plants

and here is the after plants have been added.

We plan on eating lots of salads this summer. I told the DH that I am not going to cook anything in the kitchen this summer. It gets too darn hot. Any cooking will be by grill or cold meals, like salads! We put in sweet peppers, habaneros, two different carrots, cucumbers, watermelon, canteloupe, and romaine lettuce. Yummy.
I did get some stitching done, but no piccies yet. I am about halfway through the third repeat of part 5 of AW. I should have this done no later than Tuesday. Hopefully.

Restart

I had to restart Marchetti's Contemplating the System after Michele at HAED reworked the pattern. I started last Thursday and yesterday I had finished a little over half the page. It doesn't look like too much yet, but it is definitely lighter.

I put it aside today and finally worked on AW part 5. Seeing how part 6 comes out on the first, I thought I'd better get a move on. I finished one side today. Only three more to go. I'll post a picture when all four side are done.

Have a good stitching weekend.

Go look

My friend March just finished page 3 of Wall's The Untold Story, published by HAED. You have got to go look at this. It is so cool looking. The iguana is just so neat. Go, go now!

Happy Dance

I picked up my needle last Wednesday and by yesterday I had finished pages 11 and 12 to complete the second row of pages on FoS. Here it is!I'm about a third of the way through. This is gonna be a big sucker!

I restarted Contemplating the System last night. I know, I should be working on AW, but I just can't seem to get going on the next part. Maybe this weekend. I was able to put in a little over 200 stitches in one hour yesterday. Not too shabby.

March and I are having our Stitch and Bitch this weekend. I should get something done! LOL

Have a good weekend stitching everyone.

I really am alive

Though the last two weeks it felt like I was just barely alive. I have the full blown bronchitis which has me feel like I'm hacking up a lung. I didn't touch my needle for a least a week. I finally picked it up again this past Wednesday. No pictures right now, maybe later. We did go see Star Trek - TWICE! Yes, it is that good. Now, keep in mind that when the original series debuted I was about 8 years old, firmly in place in front of the TV with my brother and sister. We never missed an episode the whole three years it was on. I have watched every incarnation of Trek. I grew up with the freakin' franchise. I am a SciFi geek. Really, you should see my house. I have phasers and tricorders, aliens, all sorts of paraphernalia around the house. So as someone who sees herself as a Trekker (not Trekkie, that's just insulting) I can say that I loved this movie. Zachary Quinto is perfect as Spock and Chris Pine is fabulous as Kirk. The one who really steals the show for me is Karl Urban as McCoy. OMG, he was so great and funny. I've seen him in a lot of movies and he was so different from any other role I've seen him do. So, if you've been on the fence about this movie, go see it. I think you'll be surprised.

Say it isn't so!

One of our LNS's is closing. Sara-Leigh at The Scarlet Thread in Great Falls, Virginia has decided to close her doors. This is a real bummer. She has the best selection of fabric and fibers. It will be a shame to lose her and the shop. The people are so friendly and always laughing. It is so sad to see another brick and mortar store go.

Now, on an up note, I've almost finished the second row of FoS. I have three columns left, but I need to put it down because the next part of AW has come out and I want to keep up with it. Here is the latest pic of FoS.

Oh, and DH shared his cold with me, so I haven't stitched a thing today. It's already gone right to my chest and I'm coughing like crazy. Every time this happens I end up with at least bronchitis. Oh joy.
We also went to see the new Wolverine movie. It was okay. The stunts were cool, but the story was slow. I was a big comic collector in my youth (made the down payment on the house when I sold my collection) and I had XMen number 1 on up, so I know all about them and they changed things around. Like Gambit comes in to the XMen verse much later than Wolverine. It was okay, but not as good as the others.

Thanks to everyone who visits my blog. I really appreciate it.
Oh well, my energy is flagging, so I'm going to go lay down now. See ya.
