What happened last weekend

Well, I went to March's and we had our Stitch and Bitch. Breakfast first then on to the stitching. We have our own little mini-SAL working on Home of a Needleworker Too. Here is my picture of how far along I am.

Then we went to lunch. When we got back we started stitching on our own projects. I pulled out BRD's Peppermint Twist. I only stitch on this once a month during the S&B. One of these days I will finish it. I did the two rows of red, the stars between them and started the reindeer before we called it a day.

Finally, it's time to rotate my HAED piece. This is how far I got on the Astronomer for the month.

I'm about a third of the way through page 2. Next up is Fantasies of the Seas.

Oh, now my horror story from last night. I was sitting on the couch and about 8 pm there was this loud boom and our lights went out. I just figured it was due to the 50 - 70 mph winds. Changed my mind when all the firetrucks, ambulance, and police came roaring down the street. Turns out some idiot took the turn too fast on the side street and slammed into a telephone pole. Knocked it completely down and across the road. Now, the speed limit is 25 mph. He had to really be flying to knock down the whole pole. Took out the power for half a block, including us. We piled the blankets on and went to bed about 10 pm. Woke up at 7 am to a freezing house. No heat, no hot water, no electricity. DH washed his hair in cold water and went to work. I said the heck with that. I waited until 9 and went over to the Hair Cuttery and had them wash and dry my hair, then I want on to work. Came home at 2 in the afternoon and we had our electric back. You don't realize how much you miss it until it's gone.

Well, that's it for now. Have a good weekend stitching.

I have been stitching

To prove it, here is the latest on the Astronomer. I finished the second column and started on the third. I might get half of page 2 done by the end of the month before I rotate.

Now on to the stash! I picked up the LizziKate Cat Lessons at the LNS, but everything else I got through ABC Stitch. I also got them all on sale. Not too shabby.

And last, but not least, I got my new scissors from Yuko in Japan. Aren't the lovely?

Okay, just waiting for March to pick me up, then off to breakfast and then our monthly Stitch and Bitch.

Have a good weekend stitching.

Snow and Confetti

Here is the snow. We got about another 8 inches on top of the 24 that was already there. That's our neighbor shoveling across the street.

Here you can see the snow mound in front of my Jeep. The winds are gusting to over 30 mph. It was like 5 degrees today.
And now to the stitching. I rotated to The Astronomer this month and started page 2. With the exception of the dark blue/black the rest is all confetti. I can't wait to get to some of that boring blocks of color :-)What else to do on a cold and snowy day. My manager arranged for us to all work from home today, so I was able to finish the payroll for D.C. and Southern Virgina. I have to print time sheets out when I can get back into the office, but other than that I am done. I really doubt I am going in tomorrow. The bronchitis cough I had during the holidays has returned. Between that, the weather, and the road conditions I am not too motivated to go in.

Well, I have to go get dinner started. Everyone stay warm.
